50 = cincuenta
60 = sesenta
70 = setenta
80 = ochenta
90 = noventa
100 = cien
Another little difficulty: the whole number 100 is âcienâ, but with any other unit it takes the form âciento...â. For example, 164 is âcientosesenta y cuatroâ. Clear, right?
100 = cien
200 = doscientos
300 = trescientos
400 = cuatrocientos
500 = quinientos
600 = seiscientos
700 = setecientos
800 = ochocientos
900 = novecientos
1000 = mil
Watch out for three things: 100 (whose secrets you already know), 500 (all numbers with this take the strange form âquinientosâ) and 900 (be careful, ânovecientosâ, not ânuevecientosâ). A small caveat: obviously, if hundreds refer exclusively to feminine elements you will need to use the numeral adjectives in the feminine form: â300 womenâ is in fact âtrescientas mujeresâ.
